In my second entry in this blog, I have mentioned about the three-kilometer walk which Tita Helen and I had in order to go to the beach only to find out that the gate to the beach was locked. What I forgot to mention was that after walking a kilometer from the resort, we already gave up and decided to heed back. Pabalik, we met a woman with her son (sabi nila mangunguha sila ng shells ng anak niya, pang-ulam sa hapunan). Tita Helen and I asked the woman kung malapit na ba ang beach. The woman’s answer was, "Yes." She even volunteered to take us to the beach.
Sa kagustuhan namin na makarating sa beach, nagpasama kami. While walking, Tita Helen and I kept asking her kung gaano pa ba kalayo ‘yung beach and the woman would answer us, "Malapit lang." Hala, todo-pawis na kami ni Tita Helen sa paglalakad at malapit na yata mabutas ang mga tsinelas namin pero wala pa rin kaming natatanaw na beach. ‘Yung malapit na sinasabi ng babae ay mahigit 2 kilometers pa pala! Sus me! Basa kami sa pawis at pudpod na yata ang mga paa sa kalalakad bago namin nakita ang beach na hindi rin naman namin nahipo man lang ang tubig dahil nga naka-lock ang gate. Kaya totoo talaga ‘yung sinasabi ng iba na sa kapag nasa probinsya at nagtanong ka tungkol sa isang lugar at sinagot ka ng MALAPIT LANG, asahan mo MALAYO ‘YUN he he he he he
