The roof in my room leaked when Milenyo battered the metropolis last Thursday. Mukhang may natuklap na part sa gilid ng roof dahil sa malakas na hangin. I only discovered the leak when I entered the room and saw a pair of floating slippers. I traced where the water was coming from and found out that there was an instant falls on the wall at the side of my bed. I checked my bed right away, half of it was already wet. Good thing I have a bed protector, a soft plastic which is like a fitted sheet. Isinusuot sa bed ang protector before isuot ang fitted sheet para kahit matapunan ng tubig, hindi mababasa ang foam. Thanks to the bed protector, may natulugan ako kinagabihan. Yun nga lang, dalawang pillows ko nabasa. (I should have listened to my sis when she told me to also buy pillow protectors. Sometimes it pays to listen to your li'l sis
).

When I went out for the first time after Milenyo unleashed its wrath, here's what I saw in the neighborhood. Fallen trees.

In other parts of the National Capital Region and in neighboring provinces, many people are dealing with things worse than fallen trees and leaky roofs. A lot of people have lost their homes and their loved ones. As of today, 61 people are dead while there are others who are missing. Nakakalungkot.
