Everytime I go to a salon to have a hair cut, I am being offered with so many services. Hair spa. Relax. Super relax (yes, there’s such a thing as super relax). Straightening. Cellophane. Rebond. Hot oil. I have a curly hair kasi. May sariling buhay ang hair ko hehehehe. When I comb my hair to my desired style, hindi sumusunod. So when people in the salon offer me these things, sometimes I’m embarrased, “Is my hair that bad na?” But there are times when I prefer to think otherwise, “Hah, gusto ninyo lang pagkakitaan ang hair ko. Wala naman siyang problema eh.” Yes, minsan I’m a denial queen hahaha.
Magastos at mahirap maging kulot kung gugustuhin mo minsan na makaranas naman ng tuwid na buhok, ‘yun bang hair na “ang gandaaaaa….ang dulaaaas….” If you want to have your hair “relaxed,” prices range from 700-1,500 pesos, depende sa length. I think cellophane service is also in the same price range. Don’t ask me about “super relax” and “rebond.” I have no idea. “Relax” pa lang kasi ang nagagawa ko sa hair ko. I wonder if someday I will be convinced to have my hair rebonded. An attendant in a salon once told me that rebonding takes 3-5 hours. Minsan pa nga daw 8 hours! Sus me! Ang tagal! And the cost? A whooping 4,000-5,000 pesos! If your hair is kinky, the cost may go up to as high 8,000 pesos. Magpapakalbo na lang ako!
Anyway, I think that in the next months I will just settle for a regular session of hot oil. Hahayaan ko na muna ang hair kong kulot. Ito ang bigay sa akin ni God eh. Saka nakakatakot, baka if I try all those services I mentioned above lalo lang masira ang hair ko o kaya I get bald and need hair restoration in New Jersey. Mas magastos hehehehe. Enjoy ko na lang ang muna ang curls ko na may sariling buhay hehehehehe.
