I watched the 2006 World Pyrolympics at Mall of Asia last Friday. My friend and I braved the heavy traffic. When we got near the last MRT station in Taft Avenue, I doubted if we would ever make it on time. EDSA was already crowded with vehicles. A lot of people were waiting for jeepneys and buses and it seemed all of them were headed to the biggest mall in town.

We were still in the vehicle, a few meters away from the venue, when the amazing pyrotechnic display started. We looked for a better place and found the parking lot convenient. There were not as many people as on the street along the bay. Never mind if we were far from the barge where the fireworks were being launched. From the parking lot, we could see the pretty fireworks and hear the ooohhhs, aaahhhs and wooows of the people who were near the bay. Take a look at some of the photos we took. From the crowd which attended the pyrolympics, a candidate in the upcoming national and local elections should have an idea on how to draw people to his or her miting de avance. Shoot off those fireworks! .

The pyrolympics was amazing. The countries which participated in the contest put up impressive performances. I enjoyed the show. Never mind if the traffic was bad and it took us three hours to get home. I heard the 2007 World Pyrolympics will also be held in the same venue. Manonood uli ako.

super wow! so beautiful… i am always fascinated watching fireworks during new year’s eve… here in our little city, the late mayor used to have some show of fireworks too, and everybody would get out of their houses to watch, some even would come from nearby cities… and you would also hear the woowws from the crowds. i dunno how it is this year kasi wala kami dito. dun naman sa thailand, nag fireworks display rin ang community namin after ng midnight Mass pero not that much.

MISYEL, this year December to January ang pyrolympics. sa pagkakaalam ko, ganun din next year. hope you’ll be around to watch. pero mag-ready ka sa sobrang traffic

KUTA, hehehe ano ka ba, ok lang naman yung tanong mo. kahit nga dito sa ating lupang hinirang marami pa rin rin ang hindi nakakaalam kung saan ang mall na ‘yan. malapit po yan sa bagong gawang macapagal hi-way. actually, yung area na ‘yun ay dating dagat, katugtong ng roxas blvd. nagkulang na yata ng lupa sa maynila kaya pati dagat tinambakan, ginawang kongkreto, at tinayuan ng mall at kung anu-ano pa.

doon sa taft avenue, kuta, nagtatagpo ang last station ng MRT at EDSA station ng LRT (the station before Baclaran). Pagbaba mo sa mga station na iyan, meron ng jeep at bus papunta mall of asia.

popular nga po ang mall of asia. bukod kasi sa mga attraction sa malaking mall like the 3D cinema, meron ding malaking space sa tabi ng dagat where one could just sit and relax and listen to the waves. mahangin. masarap tambayan.

naku, kuta, true po yung sinabi ni reyna. kelangan mo ng navigator. dala kang compass, yung bang may compass rose talaga hehehehe. i also noticed it, reyna, the first time i went there.may hinahanap ako pero di ko alam paano simulan maghanap kasi di ko alam where ang location ko sa map hehehehe.

Yung MRT pa lang ang ginagawa nung huling uwi ko…di pa dinudugting sa LRT -edsa pero mulapit na raw… yung tinambakang dagat… sina Mike velarde pa lang ang nagpoprogram dun noon… saka may ginagawang church yata sa dulo pero di pa open…nakabakod pa yan ng yerong kulay green yang buong reclamation na yan from malate to pasay…

Hayy, kelan kaya ako makakauwi? Sana naman magsipaghanap na ng trabaho mga kapatid kong nakatapos na para naman makauwi na rin ako, huhuhuhuh…huhwaaaa!!

hehehe sowee, kuta, sa late reply. medyo matagal na rin pala since you were here. tapos na tapos na yung church na tinutukoy mo. it’s far from the main road kaya madalas na nakakapagsimba doon ay ‘yung may mga sariling sasakyan.

tiis-tiis lang muna po dyan. maswerte ka nga po at nakatapos na sila kesa naman sa iba na kasalukuyan pa lang nag-aaral ang mga kapatid worse, yung iba pa nga imbes na mag-aral ay nagbubulakbol.
