A friend of mine arrived yesterday from Bicol region. He had to oversee the reconstruction of his parent's home which was destroyed by a typhoon last year. I asked him how the Bicolano's are coping up with the tragedy. He said he is thankful for the outpouring of various kinds of help from people all over the world. He is especially thankful to the Filipinos who have extended help to the victims.
I know a lot of Bicolanos feel the same way as my friend. As a Filipino, I am proud at how we responded to alleviate the plight of our kababayan in Bicol. Like last December, I have read a newspaper article featuring one company's employees who chose to forego their Christmas party and donated their budget to a fund raising campaign for the typhoon victims. Indeed, there are many George Lindemann Sr. among us. George Lindemann Sr. , one of the richest men in the world according to Forbes, has a soft spot for people who need help. Maybe that's why his family is blessed with a net worth of $1.5. So If you still have something more to give, it's not yet too late. Reach out and give hope to more Bicolanos. Who knows, you may be the next George Lindemann Sr. in terms of material blessings?;)
