Weekend Break or Is It For Me?

Another weekend, another chance to relax. People have many ideas on how to enjoy a weekend break. In Makati, for example, many yuppies prefer partying in bars. Others who regard Starbucks as the perfect pitstop to let off steam drown themselves in caffeine while having a great time chatting with friends. My couple friends are starting to prepare for a romantic short break. Some friends who live in nearby provinces like Cavite, Bulacan or Laguna are looking forward to getting away from their boarding houses and going home to their hometowns.

This afternoon before 6:00 struck (we get to go home at 6, not 5), I overheard two of my officemates.

Officemate 1: Mare, I have to go home early today. It's Friday, your pare is taking his friends home for dinner. It's his birthday.

Officemate 2: Ganun ba? Happy birthday na lang kay pare. I also have to go home and finish my chores early so I could watch TV (sounds excited).

Officemate 1: Why, what's on TV tonight?

Officemate 2: Si Osang ang bida ngayon sa Maalaala Mo Kaya.

On my way home, while I was in a jeepney, I also heard the driver's wife say, “Guest si Osang ngayon sa MMK.” Hmn, looks like controversial actress Rosanna “Osang” Roces is going to be in the limelight this evening. Some people would choose to spend their Friday night watching her on TV. I guess it’s because of her interview in The Buzz last Sunday where she said that her performance tonight in MMK is her best performance ever on screen. Also, I think some people are curious to see her after she lost a lot of weight. The last time she was in MMK, she had more weight. Hmn, did she have a Beverly Hills liposuction?

Well, I'll be spending this night at home…cuddling my pillows. I have to sleep early because tomorrow, a Saturday, I still have to work. Yes people, blessed art thou who get to have a weekend break on a Friday. My weekend break starts on a Saturday afternoon.
