Scrapbooking Rookie

I luuuuuuv beautiful, creative, and imaginative scrapbook pages (paper and digital). I admire people who can morph plain paper stocks into delightful pages with carefully cropped pictures decorated (okay, scrapbookers prefer the term, "embellished") with borders, trims, captions, eyelets, stickers, frames, and stamps. I've always wondered if I could also come up with a page, even just a simple one. So I tried paper scrapbooking, and I finished not only one, but four 12×12 friendship and vacation pages. Tadannnnn…..

Scrapbooking is so much fun. It's like playing with a lot of things (scissors, glue, buttons, stickers, trimmers and die-cutters, adhesives, markers and pens, paper punches, photo cormers, rubber stampers, paper crimpers, etcetera, etcetera). It is also like going to school learning a lot of jargons (acid-free, lignin-free, archival, brag book, cardstock, acid migration, de-acidification, hand tinting, page protectors, etcetera, etcetera). But I think the best thing about this hobby is the creative release that it provides. I am not an artistic person but after I put together those colorful papers and pictures and come up with my desired designs, it felt like I've done some obra maestra heheh. O, walang kokontra ha? .

Scrapbooking is one way of preserving photos and memories. Someday, I hope to enjoy the walks through my memories that scrapbooking allows me to take. I still have a long way to go before catching up with my photos. Marami pa kasi ang nakapila para gawan ko ng page design. I hope I'll have more time to scrapbook so I can come up with some more layouts soon. Saka, sana dumami ang money para may pambili ako ng maraming scrapbook supplies hehehe.

me too! gusto ko rin yatang i-try yan ah…. shempre iba talaga if presented in an artistic way yung mga photos, mas memorable.

sino bang nagencourage sa yo? meron ka bang mentor? hehehhe….anong gamit mong paper scrapbooking materials, yun bang sa national bookstore? andami yata dun ano… may mga colored leather pa at cute na clips.

tama ka, kailangan may budget para sa hobby na yan.

hello carey.

i was inspired when i got hold of a scrapbooking magazine which made me realize that scrapbooking is not only about beautifying photo. above all, it is about preserving photos and memories.

i get most of my supplies from a scrapbooking store in robinson galleria. dati kasi sa national bookstore, hindi masyado attractive sa akin ang paper stocks nila. pero ngayon meron na silang magagandang paper stocks.

some people prefer the “no mess” way of scrapbooking, digital. if you are into computer, mas madaling gawin because there are free kits and templates online. i was able to download some freebies from www.scrapbook-bytes.com.

try mo mag-scrapbook. whichever you choose, be it paper or digital scrapbooking, i’m sure you’ll have fun.

uy yan pala ang hilig mo ha, very nice work…tyaga mo naman but i’m sure the result is worth all the effort… ^_^

haynaku! ako tagal ko na nagbabalak gumawa nyan. pero walang nangyayari! naipon na lang lahat yong mga pics at saka mga kung anik anik na ididikit ko eh di ko naman masimulan.

ganda ng scrapping mo, bea, i like it…..

ganda din yon sand painting ba yan….nakita ko yon sa isang blog pa, sa boracay…….i have not yet in boracay, hope someday maka kita man.

oo pareho tayo ngayon, si lakwatsa din ako presently, kasi maganda ang weather namin, mas active ako basta nice n sunny days, pero pag madilim, yon dilim din ang mukha ko….

I’ve always wanted to do scrapbooking…but I can’t…my scraps are larger than my books!!!

Nice scraps Bea! I’m sure you are enjoying every minute of it. Ako walang time sa paper scrapbooking. I have some supplies but no time. Actually I was able to make 1 page. That’s it!

Nagsscrapbook din kami ni Louis, 1.5yrs old na.. pero hindi na namin natuloy kasi uber busy na lagi eh/.

magandang hobby yan, nakakaaliw pa.. kaya lang medyo pricey..

ang dami kong pinatayung talahib, bulaklak, dahon, bamboo at kung ano ano pang pinapagalitan na ako ng ex-partner ko noon dahil ang dami kong basura…ayun! hanggang ipon lang ang ginawa ko…naka scrap statio lang ako!
