This is according to the first Asia Health Survey done by Reader's Digest and Nielsen Media Research. I was watching the news last night when this news item was aired. Hongkong residents have the second highest incidence of stress. And guess who are the most laid-back people in Asia— the people of India.
I can understand why we are stressed-out. We live in a country mired in poverty, corruption, environmental destruction and political conflict. Not to mention, 'yung sunud-sunod na disasters sa Pinas—flash floods, typhoons, earthquakes, volcano eruption, etc. I guess those days when we claimed Filipinos are masayahin and "relaxed" are now over. I guess we are not really masayahin. I think we are we just trying not let these things get in the way of enjoying life. That's why we manage to smile in the face of adversities. But the truth is, iniinda natin lahat ng mga ito.
