I have a mother in the blogging world. And she's a queen (So, that makes me a princess hehehe.), the most kenkoy queen you'll ever know. Witty and funny. She works abroad, in the U.S., in Philadelphia, to be specific. And the silent wish of her heart is to someday be able to settle here in her lupang hinirang. Having worked abroad for so many years, she knows the plight of many Overseas Filipino Workers, their sacrifices and the many things they have to endure abroad just so they can bring extra food to their families' table back in Pinas.
My queen mother loves all OFWs and she has been a staunch supporter of their cause. Recently, she was irked by a column of a certain Malu Fernandez who wrote in a local paper comments discriminating and belittling OFWs who now evidently bouy the country's economy with their billions of dollar remittances. This prompted my queen mother to sponsor a logo and slogan contest. The logo and slogan entry should capture the spirit and express what being an Overseas Filipino Worker is all about.
For the prize money, my queen mother is giving away PhP10,000 from her own pocket. Yep, you've read it right, from her own pocket.
. Masipag ang Inang ko, ano po?
The contest is open to everyone—bata, matanda, may ngipin man o wala— dahil lahat naman tayo may kakilala o kamag-anak who are sweating it out abroad and we all know their sacrifices just to bring in some more money for their families. Bawat patak ng dugo at pawis nila ay alay para sa naiwang mahal na pamilya dito sa Pilipinas. Sali na! Let those creative juices flow. For more info, please click this link and you'll be directed right away to the contest mechanics. Good luck!
